Due: 1/16 First day of class
Your first assignment will be to present to the class your analysis of
a tangible user interface of your choice. Select a tangible user
interface from the list below (or another you may be familiar with)
and prepare a 5-7 minute presentation that covers the following
aspects:
- Design Concept: What kinds of information or commands are
represented physically, what kinds are represented digitally? What
shapes and materials are used and why?
- Use Scenarios: Who are the typical users of the system? What
are the scenarios in which the system is used?
- Interaction Techniques: How does the user interact with
the system to perform different tasks?
- Implementation: What are the main physical components of
the system? How are they connected and related to one another. You may
use a block diagram to describe the system. What sensing technology is
used and how?
- Interface related skills and knowledge: What skills and
knowledge (that are not related to the application domain) do users
need in order to use this system?
To prevent overlaps, please submit a list of the top 3 interfaces
you would like to work on to: oshaer@cs.tufts.edu by 7/01/07.
Shortly after you submit your preferences you will be notified which
